Our Managing Director, Mr Paul Hills
(below-left), established the company in 1997. Since then we have gained
an enviable reputation as an honest, good quality contracting company
which will "get the job done" whilst consistently delivering superior
service.
 We
have built strong, long lasting working relationships with many clients
including Local Authorities, Utility Companies and Major Contractors.
The company has successfully attained registration with the following
industry recognised schemes:-
Achilles / UVDB, Investor in People, CHAS, Constructionline, NERS / Lloyds
Register, CSCS Silver Standard and Workplace Health Connect.
We currently employ and train over 70 staff and tradesmen, the majority of
which hold professional and technical qualifications. We pride ourselves
on managing and delivering our projects using directly employed labour and
plant supplemented by a small number of specialist sub contractors and
suppliers. With a highly trained and competent workforce Hills Contractors
Limited have the capacity to undertake major and minor contracts in both
the public and private sectors.As an investor in people we value highly
our motivated workforce and reward effort and excellence with necessary
training and incentives. Our management structure and ethos is based
around an open chain of communication from the MD to the "coal face" which
leads to a culture of honesty, fairness and equality resulting in a well
informed focused team.
Our operatives are highly experienced and trained and hold some or all
of the following qualifications:-
NVQ, CSCS, CPCS, NRSWA, Confined Spaces, PUDS and First Aid.
Our Staff are equally experienced and trained and hold some or all of
the following:
Post Graduate Diplomas, Degrees, HNCs, IOSH, NEBOSH and SMSTS.
We invest in our own plant operated by its own dedicated team who have all
either attained, 95%, or are in the process of attaining new certification
under the CPCS scheme. The plant consists of mobile welfare units, 360
track and wheeled excavators, JCBs, mini excavators, dumpers, rollers,
concrete mixers, lorry loaders and plant transport vehicles.
Health, Safety and the Environment is of paramount importance in the
Construction Industry and at Hills Contractors Limited we are fully
committed to safeguarding our personnel, the general public and the
ecosystem. All of our personnel receive regular training in our dedicated
training suite at our Head Office.
Our Public / Product Liability Insurance is £5 Million plus an Employers
Liability of £10 Million.
